Katherine Mary Pulzone is an IAA Board member, recently relocated to Louisville with her mother Kay, in May 2003 from Bergen County, New Jersey. Katherinie was born in the Bronx, New York in an Italian neighborhood where she spent many years soaking up the language and culture of her immigrant grandparents and huge extended family. Her mother was born and raised in Louisville before moving to New York as a young woman at the end of WWII. Katherine is a direct descendant of Scipione Gaetano Pulzone born in Gaeta, Italy 1550-1598, and who's artwork is displayed ini Italy and all over the world including Sotheby's in London, the MET Museum in NYC, the Vatican in Rome and countless galleries, cathedrals and museums. Katherine's talent was discovered at age 5 and has been painting portraits, full figure portraits, still life and landscapes and has won awards since then. Her passion though, is Italy where she has traveled several times to paint and see family, No matter what the medium, the love of Italy speaks volumes. Katherine travels throughout Europe and the United States which are the subjects in many paintings. While many of her works are in private collections, several are in galleries back in New York and New Jersey. Her Italy artwork can be seen in Louisville businesses and private collections and when not on location, she works out of her studio here in Louisville. Commissioned to paint homelands for customers has been a joyful way to capture history and one's heritage.
